Beginner Session

Critical success? Action economy?! Ability score bonuses!?! Hearing terms like these, D&D can seem quite unapproachable. But with our amazing team of Game Masters we can teach anyone the rules of Dungeons and Dragons, and we enjoy doing so! Click the button below to sign up for a FREE, online intro session!

What’s Our Intro Class Like?

At Dice Party, you get to play through an intro session completely FREE! That means you can sign up, experience our play style, and meet some new people without any commitment to paying. This session is beneficial for all, even if you or your child is a D&D veteran! In our 90-minute online intro class we go over what D&D is, how to create a character, how to play, and then we play through a one-shot. The last 60 minutes of the session is dedicated to playing. This allows for more hands-on play time, which we think is the best way to learn.

Before every intro class, we meet with potential players to talk about their interests and reason for joining. We do this so we can ensure every person at the meeting is there to have fun playing D&D! We arrange these intro groups by age, so only pre-teens will be with pre-teens, teens with teens, and adults with adults. For this session we meet online via Zoom and every meeting is moderated by a trained member of Dice Party to ensure a safe environment. Player safety and comfort is our number one concern.

We are also aware that anyone can have phobias or triggers that should not be brought up in game. For our intro session we keep our content PG for our kids 17 and under to make sure everyone is comfortable. If you decide to continue with us, we have all players fill out a private survey about their triggers. Once we have this information, we make sure that no Dice Party Game Master (GM) or player will bring up these topics.

Our groups are safe places for everyone. Dice Party strives to be an affirming and inclusive community for our LGBTQ+ and BIPOC players. While every group has their own rules and boundaries, we share pronouns (if players want to) and uphold an inclusive environment. We celebrate our diverse community and welcome all members!

How do We Ensure Player Safety?

What Else do We Offer?

If you enjoyed our intro class, consider signing up for one of our longer-term groups. These groups are composed of 4-6 players who are grouped based on age, interests, and play compatibility. Each group meets weekly for 90-minute sessions. We have groups for pre-teens, teens, and adults, click on the links for more information!
